Zarem/Golde ORT Participates in the Annual Assyrian New Year’s Parade

The Assyrian New Year’s Parade took place on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2 pm. ORT students and teachers along with the school van started traveling the parade route on Western Avenue from Peterson Avenue north to Pratt Boulevard.  ORT students were riding in the school van which was decorated with the school logo and colorful balloons.  Other participants from ORT joined Dr. Roel Georgis's float and proudly displayed the school banner with additional information about ORT.  The people marching in the parade were holding Assyrian and American flags and were accompanied by the sounds of Assyrian national music. The parade finished at 5 pm and then everyone gathered at the Assyrian Hall to continue the celebration with Assyrian food and music.
