International Cooperation with the Korean Government


Since 2010, Chicago ORT Technical Institute has been closely cooperating with Human Resource Development of Korea (“HRD KOREA”) in training Korean students and providing overseas employment support services in the fields of Medical Assistance, Accounting, and Digital Graphics and Web Design. The HRD Korea is a public employment support center established by the Korean Government to promote the hiring of Korean workers by foreign companies. Through this program, around 40 Korean students have participated in training programs and have been working in the United States with Optional Practical Training (OPT) and H1B visa.

Memorandum of Understanding with GUMI University in Korea


Chicago ORT Technical Institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement with GUMI University in Korea on January 22, 2013. By signing the MOU agreement, both Chicago ORT and GUMI University will endeavor to cooperate and develop academic and vocational training programs. By this MOU, GUMI University will send their students to Chicago ORT Technical Institute to provide them technical skills and knowledge necessary for employment and career advancement. Based on the mutual respect, both institutions will agree to provide a dual degree for GUMI University students. In addition, GUMI students will take a short course at ORT Technical Institute and return back to its school and all credits obtained from ORT Tech will be transferred to GUMI University for their graduation.
